Barbados/Guyanese singer/model/dancer Rihanna or Robyn Fenty  achieved success in the United States with her first album Music of the Sun, since then she has become one of today's most popular singers with number one hit's like "Umbrella", "S.O.S.", "Please don't stop the Music" and "Rude Boy" she has been to the peak of fame and has  recently discovered a new love for tattoos.

In 2008 she obtained a tattoo in New York which was known as one of her earliest tattoos which was off a gallery of multi-sized stars down the back of her neck. It was later revealed that the superstar had five previous tattoos such as her a piceses sign behind her ear, a Sanskrit prayer down her hip and a music note on her right ankle. The roman numerals on her shoulder are allegedly the numerical birth date of her best friend. In Miami she also obtained a small skull, crossbones and bow on her ankle. One of her latest tattoos is a quote across her left shoulder reading "Never a failure, always a lesson" and she had this particular tattoo written backwards so that she could read it in the mirror. She has an Arabic phrase on her rib cage as well which translated means "Freedom in God".

Rihanna has said that she "loves hanging out in tattoo shops after performances or photo-shoots, when I should be rested, I get dressed and go to the tattoo parlors in Soho and hang out. I am so intrigued by tattoos. It’s an entire culture, and I study it. Sometimes I go with friends or just by myself. I get bum-rushed, but I don’t care. I don’t take security.” Rihanna is an inspiration to women who want tattoo, she realizes that tattoo's aren't a fad, their more than fashion...she see's that they are cultural, and have a profound history in the world and for this we love her!
